What The Heck Is It?

I found this wooden thingy at the thrift store last week for 39 cents.

Yes, I called it a "thingy" because I have no idea what it is.

It's wooden and about 8 inches tall, three inches across. No markings on the back and it appears to be hand carved.

I brought it to work and asked my co-workers what they thought it was.

This is what they said:

"It looks like an organ-grinder monkey."

"It looks like a clown monkey."

Oh and my favorite:

"It looks like a Dutch monkey because of his wooden clogs."

I also got the following ideas as to the purpose of it:

"It's a chocolate mold."

"It's a wax mold."

"It's a decoration to hang on the wall."

After that I looked on the Internet for anything remotely resembling it.

Nothing.

Zip.

Nada.

In conclusion, I have no idea what it is.

So I'll just call it the Dutch clown, organ-grinder monkey, mold hanging.

That might work.
