Welcome Little Ezra

I held a welcome party for Ezra on Sunday. My friends from work came to meet the little guy.

I decorated the table in blue and white. Just grabbed some blue and white things in the house and TA-DAH!

See the little frame? That's a photo of  my mom and David when he was two weeks old. My friends  thought Ezra looked like two week old David!

Everyone brought Ezra a favorite book for his library - Curious George, Mother Goose etc. Plus they each got in some baby snuggling!

It was so nice for my friends to meet my little guy.

Uncle Josh

Josh came home Friday  from Lubbock to meet baby Ezra. It was love at first sight.

It was fun to see my baby holding his baby nephew.

Joshua and Ezra - very sweet.

Halloween Baby

Yesterday my friend Mary came by the house to take some photos of baby Ezra. One of the photos was in his first Halloween outfit.

Ezra was a good model and didn't fuss or cry. Isn't he sweet? Not the least bit scary.

Can't wait to take him trick or treating in a few years.
More photos to come...

I Have All I Need.

I read the following quote this morning:

"The things you take for granted someone else is praying for."

That really stopped me in my tracks.

I complain that my electric bill is so expensive when there are people living on the street without a home or in a drafty house without the comfort of AC and heat.

I fuss because I have to eat another peanut butter sandwich for lunch when there are people in this world that don't have enough food.

I worry about my financial situation every day and wonder how I'll ever have enough money to retire on when there are people in this world that truly labor until the day they die.

It's so easy to gripe and complain when I really am so fortunate.  It takes a reminder every once in a while to help me realize how blessed I am.

So now I'll eat my peanut butter sandwich, pay my electric bill and be thankful for what I have.

Ezra Emerson 10.18.12

The little guy is finally here.

Ezra's a pretty darn cute baby if you ask me! I know I'm partial, but look at him. He's adorable right?

7 pounds 11 ounces of pure sweetness!

Ol' Rusty Box

I found an old rusty box at Salvation Army the other day. I loved the rope handles and the rusted hardware.

I brought it home and cleaned it up and bit. It's perfect for fall decor.

Love this photo. Note the pumpkin with the scarecrow on the floor in the background. Please do not notice Jack's toys on the floor. It's like having a toddler in the house!

We are supposed to have fall-like weather this weekend! I'm so ready to drink warm apple cider by the fireplace.

Happy fall!

A Key-rific Idea

Thought I would get started on my gallery of frames. Last night I glued an old key to a piece of burlap and plunked it into a white IKEA frame.

I moved it around the house to get a good picture of the end result.

I like the way it turned out and think it will look fantastic in my "gallery".

I have no idea where the old key came from. It just looks old and cool.

Once I get the gallery finished I'll make sure to post some photos.
