Alex and Brinkley were packing one day last month before her move to Houston.
Apparently it was too much for a big, fuzzy puppy to handle.
Sweet dreams Brinkley!

The Pelican
We spotted a pelican next to a car while we were "in town" at Galveston.
Mom was worried the pelican was old and sick.
Maybe ready to die.
I like to think he just liked tourists.
Preferred people over pelicans.
You know.
Maybe the other pelicans had fish breath and he's not a fan of fish.
I wonder...

Lots of people showing off the cafe's sign.
Plus a photo of Alex with her Alka Seltzer.
She had a cold.
Poor baby.
And the food was tasty.
Very tasty.
But the pie from the bakery was the big deal at the Sunflower Bakery and Cafe.
Mile high lemon meringue pie.
Yep. That's a big pie.
And a bit pricey.
Twenty bills.
But lemone meringue is Zane's favorite pie.
So mom treated us to dessert.
That pie wasn't around long.
No Fishing
I'm not sure if I'm the only one that finds this photo amusing.
I think it's great.
I took it while we were at Galveston last month.
Photojournalism at its finest.

Stanley and the Wedding Announcement
Meredith won an artist's model for a game we played at the beach this Christmas.
She had a lot of fun posing it in ridiculous positions!
So I decided he should be like "Flat Stanley" and show up in unexpected places.
Like in this palm tree behind the Galveston beach house.
And behind my Christmas Eve snack of sangria and tamales!
Or on the stairs over the sand dunes.
Here's "Stanley" at the beach announcing Meredith and Zane's wedding date.
Meredith would prefer Stanley not make an appearance in her wedding photos.
We will see.
I hear Stanley loves weddings.
Four and Twenty Blackbirds...
Alex gave her grandmother a sweet, little Le Creuset pie bird for Christmas.
So of course we had to try it out.
We baked an apple pie.
So of course we had to try it out.
We baked an apple pie.
And the crust was very good.
The little pie bird must have done the trick!
That apple pie didn't last long.
Pretty sure it was gone within 24 hours.
David even gave Ezra apple pie for breakfast the next morning.
What?
Pie has fruit in it.
