TTU Tour by Josh

Josh sent me some photos of what he calls "A day in the life at Texas Tech". The photos are really neat.

Here's a photo of what he saw walking to class:

Here's a photo in the Memorial Circle:

He took this photo in his first class. Calculus maybe?

Chemistry class?

But this photo is the most fun. This is Josh back in his dorm room by 11am and you can see what his room mate is still doing!

Yep, Rusty is still sound asleep. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I love these photos! Looks like Josh is enjoying life at Texas Tech University.

 Go Red Raiders!

Book Page Wreath

I got busy with a simple craft project last night. I purchased a paperback novel and a craft wreath at the dollar store Friday. Total spent - $2.00. Then I brewed some tea and used the tea to stain the edges of the book to give it the yellowed, old book look.

For all you book lovers, no, I did not read the novel before I destroyed it. I know. How could I?

Then I tore out pages and went crazy with my hot glue gun.

Voila!

This photo doesn't do it justice. It's really neat. I took the picture this morning using the overhead lighting in the living room. Hence, poor photo.

Two By Two

It's raining today. Which is practically a miracle.

Not like this:

Perhaps a bit more like this:

It doesn't matter how much it rains, just that it actually does.

And, by the way, that's what I feel like doing when it rains. I want to dance and sing in the rain!

Of course it's always nice to see this after the rain.

But right now we'll take the rain!

By the way, anyone remember what Noah's ark was made of?

Gopher wood.

No Cake.

Today is the first time since Alexandra was in kindergarten that I haven't made a first day of school cake. First day and last day of school we always had cake.

I think I'll have to eat some chocolate cake today. A new tradition. Cake for Mary! After all, who needs a reason to enjoy cake!

Eighteen Years Ago...

Eighteen years ago I held little Josh in my arms. Hard to believe he's all grown up now.

Brinkley Gone Wild

Brinkley is here for a few weeks while his mom travels the world. Not really the world. Just Minnesota. Anyway, while Brinkley is here we let him run free in the front yard everyday for a few minutes to help with all  his boundless energy.

Here is how it went last night. David + Brinkley = FUN!

From Brinkley's POV:

What's that? Is it a squirrel?

It's David and he's running!

I'm gonna get him!

Ooooh! He's trying to hide behind the tree, but I see him!

I'm gonna get you David!

Uh-Oh! David said to get out of the street.

Time to settle down and get my neck rubbed. David is so much fun!

Just another night of fun for Brinkley in San Angelo.

My Baby. Gone to College. Sniff.

Joshua, my baby, went to Texas Tech on Sunday. Sniff.

I got him all snug as a bug in a rug in his new dorm room. Sniff.

Here he is all smiles in his empty room. Like he won't even miss me. Double sniff.

Here is his room after we added his personal touch.

And another shot of the room. He's obviously distraught over me leaving him three hours away. Sniff, sniff sniff.

Remember that crazy mask I got for him from the thrift store? It's proudly displayed over his bed.

I am proud of you Joshua. And  I will miss you. Go ahead...have fun. I'll be okay. Sniff.
