He's On the Graduating List!

David took this photo while he was waiting for his class to begin.

It's a bit blurry, but you can make out David De Los Santos as a May Graduate.

I'm so proud of him!

Dad's Workroom

I took these photos of Dad's workroom while I was in Minnesota in September.

Brought back a lot of memories of him.

Made me miss him even more.

He's a Walking Dictionary

Kelsey decided one day to write on a chalkboard all the words that Ezra can say.

Notice how the word no is capitalized?

Yep, Ezra has discovered the power of the word NO!

Things have changed a lot since she wrote out Ezra's words. The list is longer. Much longer.

Ezra's vocabulary has grown, just like he has.

I think next I'll start teaching him the names of the presidents. Then maybe the state capitals.

Great-Uncle

Jim came to San Angelo yesterday and after a few minutes Ezra warmed up to him.

After all, who doesn't love an uncle that reads your favorite book to you.

Or hams it up for the camera with you.

Or makes you feel completely safe when he holds you.

We celebrated Jim's birthday a week early by enjoying a chocolate cake.

And as I have done in the past I am writing Jim a letter on my blog for his birthday.

Dear Jim,

Happy Birthday to my lovable brother!

I love your gentle spirit and the way you make people feel at ease.

I love watching you as an uncle to my children and now a great uncle to my grandson!

I love that I feel better after I have talked to you and know I can count on your for good advice.

I hope all your birthday wishes come true!

Love,

Mary

The Weldon

I made a simple, pine frame for the picture that's been hanging in the living room for years. The one that is affectionately referred to as The Weldon.

It's still a very rough piece of art. Kind of lopsided with some of the paint chipped off.

Not worth anything in the art world

But it makes me think of Marcia Weldon, the artist. She was a nice lady.

I think she'd be tickled that I framed her art and proudly display it in my living room.

Her Name is Willa

I finally finished the little Willett table I snagged at a garage sale for $15 bucks last spring.

Here's a reminder of what I started with.

So after many hours of sanding and sanding I got this off my to-do list.

The table is now in its new home in the living room.

I love the light colored maple wood.

I think the table needs a name.

After all, I've spend so much time fixing her up. I feel like she's a good friend.

Or my child.

I think it looks more like a girl.

It's a Willett, so maybe Wilma, or Wilhelmina.

Maybe Willa for short.

She's a cutie.

My How You Have Grown!

This photo was taken of Ezra last spring when he was maybe four or five months old.

David took this one today.

Same baby, I swear.

Ezra looks like a little boy now.

All grown up.

Sniff.

Whee Time at the Playground

David and I took Ezra to the playground.

Ezra calls the park whee.

As in whee when you go down the slide.

I took a photo of Ezra and David and used the waterlogue app to make it look like a water color painting.

Going to the whee is fun!
