That's What Moms Do.

Here's a photo of  Mom with my brother Jim. That was 1956 and she was 24 years old.

She doesn't look tired or frazzled.

But I know she was. Being a new mom, or an old one, is tiring and sometimes exasperating.

Still, she managed a smile in this photo.

That's what moms do.

They smile even when they want to cry.

Dear Mom,

Thank you for being there for me all these years. And smiling when you wanted to cry.

Even when you wanted to kill me.

Love,

Mary

Brunch, Toes and Cheese Salad

I went to see Alexandra a few weeks ago. We did some fun stuff and generally just enjoyed being together.

We had brunch at a fabulous place.

Yum factor ten thousand.

Whatever that means.

The decor was fun.

Then we got our toes decorated.

That evening we went to Fireside Pies for pizza and this amazing cheese salad.

This salad is so yummy. It's supposed to feed several people, but I think I ate most of it.

The waitress left us a cute note on the receipt.

All in all it was a great weekend with my sweet daughter.

Hope to do it again soon.
